Alchemy Technology
Technologies used in producing
high quality bicycle frames covers many areas for example,
materials, tooling, frame treatments such as heat treatment,
and lets not forget about the expertise needed to put
all this to good use.
There are many different materials available for production
of bicycle frames. We focus on the use of high strength
aluminium alloys coupled with high modulas carbon fibre.
Our reasons for using these materials are ride performance
and the freedom to produce true custom fitted frames.By
using aluminium alloys all of our intersecting frame joints
are TIG welded which means we have no limitations of angles
at these junctions. For instance if we were bonding carbon
fibre tubes to prefabricated joining lugs we are locked
into the angles the lug is manufactured to. |

There have been lots of alloys and metal matrix composites
come and go over the years, we only go into production with
proven materials so you can be 100% confident in our frames.
You will have seen Easton's Sc7000 Scandium enhanced alloy
feature in our custom frames. One of the advantages of this
alloy is improved grain structure, this gives a higher strength
and more reliable tube for us to build your dream frame. Easton
aren't the only producers of Hi-tech alloy tubing, Columbus
and Reynolds both have a good range of alloy tubing for lightweight
racing frames.
